The neighbourhood

Living above MRT Senayan

Most of what a stay in Jakarta asks of you is getting somewhere. At Sovana, on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in Senayan, a good part of that is already solved before you leave the building.

The station is at the lobby

Most of Jakarta asks you to drive. Here, the MRT is in the basement. MRT Senayan sits right in front of the lobby, so the platform is a lift ride from your door rather than a taxi queue.

From Senayan the line runs both ways along Sudirman. The stops that matter most to a stay here are close:

  • Gelora Bung Karno and Istora — one stop.
  • SCBD — one stop more, the heart of the business district.
  • Bundaran HI — minutes up the line.

For anyone here for work, that changes the shape of a day. The Sudirman corridor begins at the door, and SCBD is a single stop away — the commute is a platform away, whichever end of the business district the meeting is in.

It matters just as much on a day off. A concert at GBK, an exhibition at JCC or an evening in the centre all start with the same short walk to the platform, and the way home ends at the lobby.

Two malls within a walk

Plaza Senayan, Senayan City and Ratu Plaza are all within a walk of the building. Dining, retail and groceries sit inside that same short radius, so the everyday rarely needs a car.

That is useful because a residence here is a home, not a hotel room. Every residence has a fully equipped kitchen — an electric cooktop, a refrigerator, cookware, crockery and cutlery — but the pantry is yours to fill: please bring your own ingredients, including cooking oil, salt, pepper and seasonings. The shops a walk away are where that starts.

Laundry is closer still. Washers and dryers are in the shared laundry room at lobby level, paid per cycle — Rp 20.000 at the posted price, which is subject to change, so check it before use.

Gelora Bung Karno, next door

Business trips, GBK concerts, JCC exhibitions and family holidays all bring people to this part of the city, and Sovana sits at the edge of it. The Senayan roundabout, the stadium and Istora are the neighbourhood rather than a destination.

From Level 5 the view takes in the Senayan skyline, with GBK and Istora in the foreground and the rest of the city behind them. On a concert night, getting there is one stop on the MRT or a walk; getting back is the same in reverse.

Back on Level 5

The rate opens Level 5 to every guest, whether the stay is two nights or twelve months. It is where the day ends:

  • Four padel courts by MAJORSET Spain, built to international standard and sheltered under the Level 5 canopy.
  • Noll Coffee, an open-air café on the roof for morning coffee and pastry, one lift from your door.
  • An open-air lounge in warm timber and greenery under the canopy, with the pro-shop beside the courts.

None of it is charged on top. Access to the Level 5 facilities is part of the nightly and the monthly rate alike, along with King Koil® bedding, Samsung WindFree™ climate, WiFi-6 at up to 500 Mbps, and cleaning and linen.

Arriving and settling in

Check-in is self-service. Before you arrive we send your lockbox details and self check-in instructions; on the day, head into the Sovana lobby and collect your access and key from your assigned lockbox — no reception paperwork on arrival.

  • Check in after 15:00.
  • Check out before 11:00.
  • Quiet hours run from 22:00 to 07:00.
  • No pets, no smoking, and no parties or events.

There is no 24-hour reception, breakfast service, bell service or daily housekeeping, and that is deliberate. The team answers on WhatsApp — the same people who run the building, not a call centre — at +62 813 8609 8609.

Staying longer

Sovana is built for stays from two nights to a year, in two ways: Daily, per night, with a minimum of two nights; and Residence, by the month or by the year.

Stays under 30 nights are booked here, with live rates and instant confirmation. Rates include tax, and one cleaning fee of Rp 150.000 is added to each stay. From 30 nights, a stay becomes a conversation rather than a booking: message us on WhatsApp, and monthly and yearly rates are quoted case by case. They are lower than the nightly rate.

A monthly rate also bundles parking and utilities into one figure. Utilities run on an allowance, and use above it is billed at cost — the details are laid out in full on every residence page, under what your rate covers.
